You have a voice and a story to tell. Gateless Writing has the power to amplify it.
Join me on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET for a virtual Gateless Writing salon. Based on principles of Zen inquiry and creative neuroscience, Gateless Writing is designed to help you quiet your inner critic so that you can show up more authentically on the page and begin creating your most inspiring, innovative work.
During this two-hour salon, you will receive a short introduction to the Gateless Writing method, center yourself with a brief meditation, spend 20 to 25 minutes writing in community, and experience the magic of a structured Gateless feedback circle.
I can’t wait to write with you!
Here's what past attendees had to say about their experience with Gateless:
“Meg is such a calming and consistent presence leading this salon. Her encouragement and kind reminders throughout helped us stay on track with the Gateless method, giving us the tools we needed to both give and receive supportive feedback that drowned out the inner critic. Highly recommend!!” – Lauren, writer and co-captain of The Writer's Helm
“I loved the opportunity to have thoughtful feedback from perceptive readers. Some picked up on things I didn't even realize were in the piece, which is helpful if and when I decide to expand on that writing. It's also a chance to hear work from other creative writers with different topics and interests from my own. The positivity and sincerity of the discussions made me feel like I had the room to experiment with a weird half-baked idea on the page and see what came out — not an atmosphere you'll find in every writing group!” – Paul, freelance writer
“What a great space to collaborate. It was empowering! I had no idea what to expect in terms of feedback. It was so interesting how each writer interpreted the prompt and my work! I received insights I didn't know were there. It quelled my inner critic to hear all the positivity.” – Michelle Konde, thriller author
“Meg's leadership was perfect. The other participants were excellent, both as writers and as feedback-givers. The whole thing changed my perception of what writing workshops can feel like. Although I loved getting my MFA, I found workshopping a novel-in-progress sort of pointless. With Gateless Writing, on the other hand, there are no questions about where the piece fits, or what happens next, or what happened before. I came away energized and feeling positive about the writing experience. This feeling lasted days. If one session does that, I can only imagine what a series of them would do.” – Pat Dobie, writer and editor
“I enjoyed learning about the philosophical concepts behind Gateless Writing. The meditation to get into a creative mindset was very powerful. I developed some personal mantras from the concepts taught, and I learned a lot that I will continue to utilize in my private writing practice.” – Lauren Henderson, content writer
